History
SportsUnited has evolved from humble beginnings in 2012 to become a not-for-profit charity in 2018.
Initially we began as a sport for development initiative within the University of South Australia drawing on the Football United program established at the University of New South Wales in 2006.
Since commencing (initially as UniSA Football United and then UniSA Sport for Development) the program has conducted more than 30 sport for development projects.
To establish and maintain these projects we have worked with various organisations including a number of SA metropolitan schools and local government authorities, the Department of Rural Health, the Office of Recreation and Sport as well as sport organisations (such as Netball SA and the Adelaide United Football Club).
Our sport for development projects have been recognised for their ability to bring community together in safe and supportive environments as well as provide educational outcomes for participants and volunteers.
